Griffins Schedule When The Red Wings Are Away

A little over two hours to the West of Detroit, resides the farm team of the Red Wings. Nestled in downtown Grand Rapids, Michigan, Van Andel Arena has been the home of the Griffins for 30 seasons. The Van may be smaller than Little Caesars Arena, but the fans carry the same pride and passion as Wings fans. On top of that, multiple top prospects, like Axel Sandin Pellikka, Amadeus Lombardi, Nate Danielson, and Shai Buium, will hit the ice in Grand Rapids this season. Because of this, games in Grand Rapids are a great time.
If you are an average Red Wings fan, there is no excuse not to make a trip out west to watch the prospects play, especially when 24 of the Griffins’ 36 home games are on days when Detroit doesn’t play at home.
Detroit fans have the possibility of attending three games in Grand Rapids during the Red Wings’ 13-day road trip in December.
During the NHL’s Olympic break, the Griffins will have four home games: February 13, 15, 18, and 20.
In March, treat yourself to a lovely spring outing in Grand Rapids when the Griffins play on Friday, March 13th, and Saturday, March 14th, while the Wings are out of town.
