*The”Beauty Play of the Week” was created to highlight some of the plays which showcase the beauty of the Griffins on-ice play during their 30th anniversary season.

The Griffins kept the wins rolling with a weekend sweep of the Manitoba Moose, 5-2 and 4-2.

A formidable opponent, the Moose were able to adjust their game from one night to the next. However, the Griffins were able to hold off any forward momentum from the team.

There was one play which was absolutely beautiful : Eduards Tralmaks’ second period power play goal from the Griffins' 4-2 win over the Moose on Saturday, October 18, 2025.

This goal earned “Beauty Play of the Week” for multiple reasons.

First of all, leading up to Tralmak’s goal, neither team was executing well. As Tralmaks put it, they played “sloppy.” Within moments of the puck hitting the back of the net, the energy began to change for the Griffins. They became more focused and looked to have some pep in their step. Oftentimes, fights are credited for a shift in energy and momentum. But there is nothing like opening the scoring on the power play to get a team’s blood pumping.

Secondly, the passing was stunning. Defender William Wallinder helped move the play along with simple, yet strong, passing. He didn’t need to get fancy to keep the play moving. Wallinder stuck to what works for him - strong fundamentals - to help make Tralmaks’ goal come to fruition.

Forward Ondrej Becher had a sly little backhand pass to Wallinder, which was equally beautiful, as it caught the Moose penalty kill off guard.

Finally, the hustle Tralmaks put in at the beginning of the play was fun to watch. He hunted the puck down right off the faceoff and was able to move the play up the ice in commanding fashion. The Griffin's power play was able to match his energy and is a huge reason why the play was a success.
