The Graced By Rain “Beauty Play of the Series” for the Central Division Finals has been awarded to Griffins forward Michael Brandsegg-Nygard’s game winning overtime goal against the Chicago Wolves.
Grand Rapids’ lone postseason win against Chicago came on Tuesday, May 19, 2026 courtesy of Brandsegg-Nygard.
The play kicks off with a pivotal faceoff win by Sheldon Dries in the Griffins’ defensive zone. From there, Erik Gustafsson launched the puck from the corner wall, having the foresight that Brandsegg-Nygard would be there to receive the puck.
Between the team’s communication and Brandsegg-Nygard forcing the Wolves to overplay, the play was gorgeous from start to finish.
