S6E18: The Beauty of Concerts and Grand Rapids Griffins (feat. Michael Spruit)
Michael Spruit joins Elaine Shircliff on “Graced By Rain” to discuss the beauty of concerts and the Grand Rapids Griffins. Spruit is a multimedia creator from Michigan who spent eight years working in professional hockey—first with the Grand Rapids Griffins from 2014 to 2018, where he was part of the team during their 2017 Calder Cup championship run, and then with the Detroit Red Wings from 2018 to 2021, traveling with the team and creating behind-the-scenes content.
These days, he leads multimedia projects for LLYC, a marketing agency with an office in Grand Rapids, but his other passion is live music. Michael’s been to more than 65 concerts and seen over 130 different bands—from Foo Fighters and Green Day to local favorites like Mustard Plug. Recently, he started tracking his “Concert Alphabet” , where he’s working his way through the alphabet, one live show at a time. With only V and X remaining.
Whether it’s hockey or live music, he’s all about capturing moments that bring people together.
